Tuesday nights in our league are for having a blast - no matter your skill level! Through the years, we've seen it develop from a humble gathering of just a few people to a regular group of 25-30 who come together each week. So grab some friends and join us now; you won't regret it!

League Details

Attention Disc Golfers. We’re looking forward to this year’s disc golf summer league, running May – September. Early registration helps us to cover the upfront costs, so we ask if you are able, to register early.

When?

We will play on Tuesday evenings at 6 pm, starting May 16th, and playing until the end of September.

Who Can Play?

We want to be as inclusive as possible. Anyone at any skill level can play, but if young children want to play, we ask that their parents take responsibility and that if they want to play with the group, that they adhere to the rules, the same as anyone else. Our play is relaxed, so if you are a strong player or beginner, we want it to be accessible and fun for all.

Where?

Marsh Pond Park, at the corner of Lorne Ave. and St. Vincent St. In Stratford.

Costs

The cost of joining the league is $65 for the 2023 season. This includes your membership in the Ontario Disc Sports Association and your insurance for league play, along with a custom Stratford stamped golf disc and numbered bag tag.

Format

We will meet by the first tee each week, breaking into groups of 3 or 4. From there, the groups will go out and play two full rounds of the course, first from the red tees and then from the blue tees. Live scoring is done via the UDisc app. After play concludes for the week, points are assigned, and the leaderboard is updated.

Each year the champ (from the previous season) will be given the opportunity to compete in the provincial championships.

Weekly Scoring

Each week you play (during league night), you receive 2 points.
You will receive 1 point for each league member you tie or outscore. So if 20 people signed up for the league, a first-place finish would give you 20 points. Players who do not play in a week will receive 0 points for the leaderboard.
There is one additional point for a bogie free-front-9 and one for a bogie-free back-9.
There is a 5-point bonus for an ace or an eagle.
There will be a 2-point bonus for Closest to the Pin (CTP) each week. The CTP hole will be specified before the start of the round.
Your average score is calculated and will serve as the tiebreaker for two players with the same number of leader-board points.

If you cannot make it out on a Tuesday evening, you can play a make-up round. Another league member must witness a make-up round. Players completing a make-up round must do so after league play and before sundown on the following Monday. Players cannot make up a block of missed weeks in one go and cannot play multiple rounds and “cherry-pick” one round as the make-up round.

New for 2023: We will have an official make-up round time on Saturday morning. Players completing their round in this time slot will receive a 1 pt bonus in lieu of the 2 pt bonus for playing on Tuesday night.

Players playing a makeup round at a different time will not receive the 2-point bonus for playing on league night, the 1pt bonus for Saturday morning, and will not be eligible for CTP.

Rudy Woods Annual Membership

We're very excited to announce that for the 2023 season, players in the Tuesday Rec league will have the option to purchase an annual pass for Rudy Woods, an exclusive private disc golf course run by the Grand River Disc Golf Association. Previously this course was available for GRDGA members only.

If you don't want to pay for a season, you can grab a day pass for $20, which also previously required GRDGA membership.

SDGC Waiver of Liability

I want to participate in the 2024 disc golf season of the Ontario Disc Sports Association (ODSA) and the Stratford Disc Golf Club ("The Disc Golf Club"). I understand and acknowledge that the sport of disc golf may involve physical risk. I accept the responsibility for inspecting each area, course or field on which I play disc golf in connection with the ODSA and the Disc Golf Club and satisfying myself as to its safety. In consideration of the ODSA and the Disc Golf Club accepting me as a participant during the 2024 season, I, for myself, my heirs, executors, administrators, successors and assigns, hereby release, waive and forever discharge the ODSA and the Disc Golf Club, its sanctioning body and sponsors and all their respective agents, servants, contractors, representatives, directors, elected and appointed officials, successors and assigns, of and from all claims, demands, damages, costs, expenses, actions and causes of action, whether in law or in equity, in respect of death, injury, loss or damage to my person or property how so ever caused, arising to or to arise by reason of my participation in the 2024 disc golf season, whether as a spectator, participant, competitor or otherwise, whether prior to, during, or subsequent to the 2024 season and notwithstanding that same may have been contributed to or occasioned by the negligence of any of the aforesaid. I further hereby undertake to hold and save harmless and agree to indemnify all of the aforesaid from and against any and all liability incurred by any or all of them arising as a result of, or in any way connected with, my participation in the 2024 disc golf season. By accepting this waiver, I acknowledge having read, understood and agreed to the above release, waiver and indemnity. I warrant that I am physically fit to participate in the 2024 disc golf season.

Rudy Woods Release & Waiver of Liability

THIS AGREEMENT WITNESSES that for good and valuable consideration, including participation in the Activity on property owned or operated by the Owners, the sufficiency and receipt of which consideration are hereby acknowledged, the undersigned hereby agrees as follows: 1. Conduct and Behavior. I agree to conduct myself in accordance with the Rules set out herein and posted on-site, and in any event in a safe, reasonable and prudent manner at all times while participating in the Activity. 2. Release. I agree to release, and hereby do release, each of the Owners and GRDGA, their respective family members, members, trustees, agents, employees, contractors, affiliates and representatives, as applicable (collectively, the “Releasees”), from any and all liability that they or any of them may have, for any personal injury, death, property damage or other loss, sustained by me in connection with, or as a result of, my participation in the Activity, due to any cause whatsoever, including without limitation the negligence of the Owners, GRDGA or any of the Releasees. 3. Waiver of Claims. I hereby waive any and all claims I may now and in the future have against the Releasees, or any of them, and I agree not to sue the Releasees, or any of them, for any personal injury, death, property damage or other loss, sustained by me in connection with, or as a result of, my participation in the Activity, due to any cause whatsoever, including without limitation the negligence of the Owners or GRDGA or any of the Releasees, and I agree that I will not at any time or in any manner make any claim or demand or commence any action against any third party that might claim contribution or indemnity or other relief over and against the Releasees or any one or more of them. 4. Acknowledgement of Risk. I acknowledge that there are certain risks involved in my participation in the Activity, in addition to the usual risks and dangers inherent in any physical activity, including without limitation slips, falls and malfunction of equipment or facilities, Rudy Farms presents certain other inherent risks, including without limitation hunters/firearms, river (deep rushing water), sharp branches/sticks, uneven and varied terrain and wild animals. 5. Assumption of Risks. I hereby assume and accept all of the dangers and risks connected with, or related in any way to, my participation in the Activity, and the possibility of personal injury, death, property damage or loss resulting from any of the foregoing. 6. Declaration of Insurance. I represent and warrant that I am a valid and current member of the ODSA (Ontario Disc Sports Association, and as a paid up member carry $5,000,000 amateur sports general liability insurance coverage. 7. No Representation. In entering into this Agreement, I confirm that I am not relying on any representation or statement made by the Owners, GRDGA or any of the Releasees, whether oral or in writing, to induce me to participate in the Activity or minimizing the risks or dangers connected with or related to my participation in the Activity. 8. Binding Agreement. I agree that this Agreement constitutes a legally binding obligation enforceable in accordance with its terms, and that it shall continue to bind me and my heirs, executors, legal representatives and personal assigns. 9. Governing Law. This Agreement shall be governed by the laws of the Province of Ontario and the laws of Canada applicable therein and each of the parties hereby submits to the non-exclusive jurisdiction of the Province of Ontario in connection with this Agreement. This waiver will remain in effect from and after the date below, at any time that I am on Rudy Farm including the disc golf course until the 31st of December of the current year. The release and indemnity set forth in this document (a) shall be binding on me, and person or entity claiming by, through, or under me, my heirs, executors, administrators, legal and personal representatives, successors and assigns; and (b) shall inure to the benefit of the Releasees, their heirs, executors, administrators, legal and personal representatives, successors and assigns. I confirm that I am 18 years of age, that I have completely read this Agreement and that I fully understand the provisions of this Agreement. I understand that by signing this Agreement I am giving up my legal rights including the right to sue.
